Marbré Design
Haderslev, January 23, 2022
Well-known Danish brand changes its name
The Danish brand Marbré, known for producing high-quality sinks, is changing its name to Marbre DESIGN and launching a product catalog that emphasizes that a bathroom is more than just a bathroom. The name change is the culmination of six years of dedicated work to strike the right balance between quality and design.
A DNA with potential
Based in Haderslev, the company has more than 30 years of experience designing and manufacturing bathroom sinks. Over the years, Marbré has enjoyed success and become known for high quality, low prices, and a strong delivery guarantee across a narrow but popular product range.
In other words, it was a company with real potential, says Claus Barrett, who took over Marbré in 2016 after having been in the industry since 1995.
“I left my job as CEO of Multiform because I wanted more. I wanted to build something and create my own business. So when I had the opportunity to buy Marbré from the previous owner, I jumped at the chance. Here was an opportunity to build on the high quality and create a comprehensive solution designed for the style-conscious consumer, for whom a bathroom is not just a bathroom.”
From bathroom to wellness
Good quality never goes out of style. However, we have long wanted our products to be showcased more prominently in an environment that adds value and creates a holistic experience for users.
Most of us live in a fast-paced world. When we step into the bathroom and close the door on the hustle and bustle of daily life, we should feel enveloped by calm, purity, and naturalness. The bathroom should be free of unnecessary distractions. The experience lies in simplicity, and it is the small details that create the overall experience.
We go into the bathroom to be ourselves.
Current trends and bathroom design
Danes are big fans of natural design in the bathroom. The materials should reflect nature, which is why wood and stone feature heavily in this style. In addition, the design should be simple and free of “frills,” making it both practical and easy to clean. And there should be a bit of a “wow” factor—a subtle sense of innovation and technology.
Innovative technology
This technology is featured, for example, in mirrors, most of which have built-in lighting. The Ghost mirror is particularly worth highlighting here. A simple, narrow frame transforms Ghost from a plain mirror into an elegant piece of decor, and with a built-in motion sensor, light illuminates the frame from an invisible light source—also known as ghost technology.
Playful design
Innovation is also evident in the design of the sinks. The ceramic sinks, in particular, with their beautiful natural granite texture, are a feast for the eyes. Where is the drain? The sink resembles a basin carved directly into the countertop, without the familiar hole at the bottom for the drain. In this case, the drain is hidden in the back edge of the sink, creating an elegant look that evokes the feeling of a luxurious spa experience.
No more dirty overflow holes
Many of the sinks from Marbre DESIGN also lack the familiar hole at the top of the basin, which is designed to prevent overflow. This gives them a much more elegant look. Here, the overflow is built into the drain valve. When a certain amount of water accumulates in the basin, the VA-approved drain valve opens automatically, preventing overflow. The result is a much more attractive sink, and at the same time, dirt and limescale are prevented from accumulating in the hole.
And then there’s the wow factor…
The Marbre DESIGN catalog features a wide range of bathroom accents that make you want to linger a little longer behind the closed door. For example, a mirror with a shelf that includes a built-in wireless phone charger. A crystal-clear, bronze-colored glass sink or an elegant, teardrop-shaped faucet with a sculptural design that practically begs to be shown off.
There’s also something for those who want to go all out for that wow factor. At the back of the catalog, an entire section is dedicated to fixtures from Tonino Lamborghini Water Design. Since the 1960s, Lamborghini has been world-renowned for its exclusive style, uncompromising spirit, and Italian ingenuity and design. That identity is evident in their product lines for the bathroom and kitchen.
“We are proud to be the exclusive distributor of this brand in Denmark,” reveals Claus Barrett. This is truly something to look forward to. The selection of Lamborghini products ranges from the well-known fixture designs, such as Indy—but with a personal touch that sparks curiosity and bears the familiar logo featuring the defiant bull—to high-end products like Monza, Marina Bay, and Nürburgring, which are sure to give guests something to talk about.
The Future of Marbre DESIGN
“We are proud of the progress we have made in the company. The reputation and quality we have built over the years have now expanded to offer a complete bathroom experience. We look forward to the future and to helping Danes, through our products, create a sense of calm, well-being, and balance in their home’s bathroom experience. At the same time, it is important to us that the values the company has been known for over the years—high quality and reliable delivery without the price skyrocketing—live on into the future.”
